Some great points here, but I’ve always been of the persuasion that a good developer can pick up new paradigms and languages given some time; this relates to the last argument of my article. Adding a tool such as TypeScript to the mix is potentially adding a build complexity, whereas some time to pick up a skill could avoid this.

I’m all for innovation and progression, but this is not the answer. I think that browsers could offer another language alongside JavaScript, but this also has its cons.
